Swimming

Swimming is offered as a district wide sport and occurs during the volleyball and basketball seasons.  Practices reside at the Aquatic Center off Sallie Mood and compeition occurs between schools.  All swimmers are required to purchase suits and caps.

The 2013-2014 Ravens finished 3rd overall. This is the only sport offered that is not broken down into divisions. The STEM Academy's final placements were impressive as they competed against ALL Middle Schools in Chatham County.

Basketball

Tryouts for basketball are subject to change, but began following Christmas break last year.  Practices and most games occur at the Ravens Nest.  All boys selected for the team are required to have tennis shoes and proper attire.  We recommend all parents and student athletes read through eligibility requirements, guidelines and procedures prior to tryouts to ensure the terms and conditions will be accepted if chosen.

The 2014 Ravens advanced to the playoff round and are looking to make it to the Championship game in 2015.

Soccer
The soccer season begins in March and ends in May.  Practices, and most games, are held on campus at our Ravens Field.  Athletes who are selected to the team will need NOCSAE labeled shin guards, cleats, proper attire, water bottle, and sun screen.  We recommend all parents and student athletes read through eligibility requirements, guidelines and procedures prior to tryouts to ensure the terms and conditions will be accepted if chosen.
The 2014 Ravens became the first soccer team in school history to advance to playoffs.  The Ravens fell to Ellis and are looking for a rematch in 2015.

Golf

Golf season occurs during the spring and lasts from March through May. This was the opening year for the district program and was used to introduce the fundamentals, rules, and etiquette of the game.  Competitive play is a future goal for the athletes that participate, much like swimming. Golf clubs, golf shoes, and proper attire are needed for participation. Bacon Park Golf Course is the facility used during season play.

Baseball

Tryouts are held in February with the season lasting through May. Practices and games are held at Ambuc Fields next to the Aquatic Center on Sallie Mood.  Boys who make the team will need to purchase a hat through the coach.  Cleats, glove, water bottle, proper attire and sun screen are all required for practices and games.  Bats are preferred but not required.  We recommend all parents and student athletes read through eligibility requirements, guidelines and procedures prior to tryouts to ensure the terms and conditions will be accepted if chosen.

The 2014 season was a winning one, with the Ravens advancing to the playoffs.
